Friends and foes
I’m in the studio looking over my pathetic excuse for a laptop, watching Haddock rocking with the bass. I just heard this new nickname for our bass player -Haddock- because of his black thick bierd and skills on the sea. We’re done with the drums and now it’s time for Haddock to shine.
Earlier today when Johan and Haddock was starting up the session, Hagen and I drove in to the city to meet up with our manager Magnus. Jakob took the bus from his soon to be old apartment and met us there.
Magnus arrived with his family- a wife a son and a slave. We did not talk so much to the wife and son, but the slave was quite chatty. The five of us had a long conversation about the future of Animasola, and everyone was drinking beer, everyone but me – EVEN THE SLAVE! I had to settle for coffee. Because someone had to drive back to the studio, and Hagen has no license and Jakob is just too self-centered.
Well thats all for me this time. Write to you soon again.
And by the way, The slaves name is Pata. Magnus new extra-set-of-hands and an old friend of ours. We’re very excited to start working with BOTH of them!
…and Jakob is no way near self-centered, he was just thirsty.

It has been a stressful start of the recording. Since Johan has such a tight schedule working in Örebro, Germany and Mallorca(!) we have been forced to record the drums when he’s at home and over a rather long period of time. But Johan has done an amazing job with the drums – 14 songs in 4 days – and the result is really, really good!
The sound of the drums is huge and we can’t wait to continue the recordings! In a few weeks it will be all bass and guitars and we (Jakob, Johan and Anton) are really looking forward to that!
At the last studio session we took some photos. As you can see we are very healthy and happy, and the beard is growing longer and fuller as the hours pass.
We can’t wait to get out on the roads again! It’s going to be a very nice summer! Thank you for reading!

We like challenges. Especially when there’s facial hair involved. Therefore we started “the great beard race”. The rules are simple – whoever has the longest, largest and fullest beard when the album is done wins. Shave – and YOU ARE OUT!
Johan, Johan and Anton already have a head start, and you can pretty much rule out Jakob and Kristofer right away since they don’t have the prerequisite of growing a beard that isn’t pathetic. But we will see…
The beard race is on! Full beard – fulfilled!

…the mice will play. Myran, our beloved drummer, is away working at Fascination Street in Örebro. Since he’s the one who’s doing the recording of our album we can’t do much while he’s gone. But, restless as we are, we spent last night making a remix of a song called Angel Eyes. It’s a really cool song that didn’t quite make it to the album track list. We’ll continue recording during the week and post the result on the blog when it’s done! A little treat for all of you nice people reading our blog! As the image shows Johan is very enthusiastic about the remix.

Animasola from the west coast of Sweden is a band comprising of brothers Jakob and Johan Eriksson, their cousins Kristofer Lernsten and Anton Eriksson, and their long-time friend Johan Örnborg. Through persistent touring the band has amassed an impressive fanbase without having an album out yet. National radio stations in Sweden has frequently played the bands self-produced demos which earned them the title of “Best Unsigned Band of 2006″ from the Gothenburg Post – one of Sweden’s biggest daily newspapers.

Yes, it’s true… We are finally making an album! We’ll start recording this Sunday and can’t wait to get the songs out there for you to hear! We’ve been around for about 5 years and recorded over 30 songs. Therefore a big part of the album will consist of old favorites – sort of a Greatest Hits record. But!.. There will also be a bunch of new, very nice songs! You might even be able to dance to a few of them.
